Sheltered from the rain

In the Philippines the weather changes radically from one moment to the next. Torrential rain can catch you in the least expected place. For example, on the edge of a rice terrace located in the middle of hundreds of rice terraces. The stones are slippery and if you misstep, a three-meter free fall to the next terrace awaits you.

Amenaza de lluvia en pula

When the raindrops are so strong that they begin to hurt and you try to move forward as fast as possible playing Russian roulette, an Ifugao hut appears in the middle of nowhere. Taking shelter there from the storm, sharing that moment with such a modest family that offers you a seat and smiles at you non-stop turned out to be an unforgettable memory. Among dogs and chickens, we were also welcomed by several children; one of them looked at us seriously and suspiciously. Two laughs and a chocolate bar were enough to make him smile. We can no longer show his happiness because it was not worth missing out on it to look for the camera again. But we do offer him this memory for turning a torrential rain into a blessing. Thank you.
